Water filters are not the kitchen/office appliance most people think of when considering potential fire hazards, but this is the 3rd fire-related recall Nestlé Waters has issued for its water dispensers since 2015.

In July 2016, Nestlé Waters recalled about 10,900 AccuPure countertop filtered water dispensers after 7 reports of parts melting, smoking, or burning. The dispensers were sold individually or rented to businesses between January 2013 and May 2016.

In September 2015, Nestlé Waters recalled 3-gallon and 5-gallon water dispensers that were distributed as part of water delivery contracts to residents of New York, Florida, and Massachusetts. The screws holding the heat band can break off and cause the unit to overheat and catch on fire.
