Britax said in government documents that clips were found in the mouths of 3 children, but no choking injuries have been reported to date.

The company traced the problem to customers putting pressure on the clips, which help to position the harness straps. Britax says customers can safely keep using the infant seats if they remove the chest clip or watch a center tab for signs of breakage.

Britax will notify owners and provide a new chest clip. The company has set up a website for consumers to find out whether their infant seats are being recalled.
