Clif Bar Recalls Protein Bars Over Nut Allergy Complaints

The bars may contain peanuts and tree nuts including hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts, pecans, cashews and coconuts. They are sold in stores and online throughout the U.S.

“Clif Bar discovered this issue when it received a small number of consumer complaints alleging peanut or tree nut allergic reactions,” FDA said. “There are no confirmed illnesses associated with this recall.”

People who do not have nut allergies can safely consume the recalled Clif Bars. No other Clif products have been affected, according to the FDA.

If you are concerned about nut allergies you can return any recalled Clif Bars to the point of purchase for an exchange or refund.

Affected products should then be discarded in a secure place and not consumed, according to the recall announcement.
