Eyebrow Gel Recalled for Quality Control Issue That Could Cause Eye Irritation

The recall affects all versions of Gimme Brow, including the full size, sample sizes and any Gimme Brow products included in a gift set.

“We are initiating a voluntary recall of our Gimme Brow product after discovering that recent batches of the product did not meet our stringent quality standards,” Benefit said in a press release.

The company says it has received “zero reports” of anyone being harmed by the product, but is recalling it out of an abundance of caution.

In fact, Benefit claims that Gimmie Brow is still safe to use on the eyebrows, and only presents a risk if applied directly to the eyes.

“If Gimme Brow is used in the way that it’s intended to be used, on the eyebrow, there’s no risk involved,” the company said. “If someone was to stick Gimme Brow on their eyeballs … (or) if you put mascara on your eyeball, or an eyeliner, or any makeup that’s not intended for eyeball use, which is none … there could be an irritation.”

Benefit is asking anyone who purchased eyebrow gel affected by the recall — even if it came as part of a gift set — to stop using it immediately and return it to Sephora, ULTA Beauty, or anywhere else Gimme Brow is sold.
