The recall affects 2016 Ford F-150s manufactured between January 22, 2016, and April 19, 2016, at the Dearborn and Kansas City plants, and Explorers made during the same time period at the Chicago plant. All recalled vehicles came equipped with front power seats, Ford said.
The automaker says a bolt in the power seat adjuster can come loose or fall out. When this occurs, the seat cushion can move too far.
Dealers will check the bolts free of charge. If they pass inspection, mechanics will clean and reinstall them with an adhesive to keep them secured. If the bolt fails inspection, dealers will follow the same procedure until parts for a final repair are available.
Ford says it is not aware of any crashes, injuries or other incidents associated with the recall.
Owners will be notified of the problem starting January 8, Ford said.
