Knives Recalled Over Laceration Hazard Linked to Dozens of Injuries

Calphalon says it has received about 3,150 reports of broken knives and at least 27 reports of injuries – including four cuts that required stitches.

According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), this recall affects the following products:

These products were manufactured from August 2008 to March 2016, and sold in sets and individually at retailers across the U.S. – including J.C. Penney, Macy’s, and Kohl’s – as well as online on Amazon.com.

The recalled knives sold for $25 for a single knife to $300 for a knife block set. Overall, about 2 million products were sold in the U.S., with about 7,000 sold in Canada.

Consumers who purchased any items affected by this recall should stop using them immediately and contact Calphalon for a replacement.
