The USB wall power adapter on two Moonlight & Melodies soothers manufactured by Skip Hop can break, according to a recall notice issued Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

There has been at least one case in which a broken adapter caused an electric shock, the agency said. The recall only applies to the owl and elephant nightlights made by Skip Hop.

The owl soother is white and gray, and measures about 5.5 by 4.5 by 6 inches. The white elephant soother measures about 7 x 4.2 x 5.7 inches.

Both nightlights have a sound speaker on each side and operation buttons at the top or the back. The ‘Skip Hop’ logo appears on the underside of the soother.

If you purchased a recalled nightlight soother for your child, you should stop using it immediately and contact Skip Hop for information about how to obtain a free repair kit and new USB wall adapter.
