The company said it was aware of at least 11 cases where plastic was found in children’s mouths, and 4 cases of children choking on it. There have also been at least 372 instances of the layer bubbling or peeling, according to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).

Affected products have various printed designs including cars, construction scenes, giraffes and superheroes, with a colored rim and a non-slip bottom. They were sold from Oct. 2009- Aug. 2017 at Walmart, Babies R Us, Target, Amazon and other large retailers. The plates and bowls were both sold separately for about $2.50 per unit, and as part of a $15 set called the “Toddler Mealtime Set.”

The recall includes about 3.6 million plates and bowls in the U.S., along with another 1.9 million in Canada. Playtex is offering consumers who purchased the items a full refund.
