Recall: 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, GMC Acadia

Recall: 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, GMC Acadia

The problem is that the right front intermediate driveshaft can fracture. If the driveshaft breaks off or separates while driving, it will cause the vehicle to suddenly lose propulsion. This increases the risk of crash. No accidents or injuries have been linked to the recall.

The problem also poses a “rollaway” hazard if it occurs when the car is parked on a slope, according to the recall notice:

If the assembly separates while parked on a grade without the parking brake engaged, the vehicle may move unintentionally, increasing the risk of a rollaway.”

Dealerships will replace the right front intermediate drive shaft assembly for free.
