There have been at least 6 reports of rubber knobs on wiggle balls breaking off, including 4 incidences in which pieces of the knobs were found in children’s mouths, according to a recall announcement issued by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).
The recall affects “Bruin Infant Wiggle Ball” toys, which are also called giggle balls. In addition to knobs breaking off, the ball’s plastic back can also detach, CPSC said.
Affected wiggle balls were sold at Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores nationwide and in Canada from June 2016 thru January 2017. The products were manufactured in China, and have the model number “5F6342E” printed on them.
If you purchased any products affected by the recall, you should take them away from your children and return them to Toys “R” Us for a full refund.
No deaths have been associated with the recalled wiggle balls to date, CPSC said.
