25 Tons of Sausage Recalled for Plastic Contamination

Grilled Sausage

The recall was initiated after a restaurant that purchased the sausage found plastic embedded it while slicing the product and filed a complaint with Yoakum, Texas-based Eddy Packing Co. Inc.

Sausage products affected by the recall include:

The sausage was processed on April 5, 2018, and has packing dates of April 5-6, 2018. The product can be identified with the establishment number “EST. 4800” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. If you purchased any of the recalled sausage you should discard it immediately or return it to the place of purchase.

To date, no injuries or other incident have been associated with the recall, FSIS said.
