Callie’s Charleston Biscuits Recalls Ready-To-Eat Ham Products for Listeria Contamination

The following products are affected by the new recall :

“At the core of our business is making sure that our customers and community are receiving the best possible products,” said Callie’s Charleston Biscuits founder Carrie Morey. “We have a plan in place that we were hoping to never use. We acted immediately with every possible precaution to ensure the safety of our customers. To our loyal retailers, we have a contingency plan in place and do not foresee any major disruptions in our service.”

Listeria infection, or listeriosis, is a foodborne illness that most often occurs in children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with compromised immune systems. However, in rare cases, otherwise healthy adults can become infected as well. Signs and symptoms of listeriosis include:

If you purchased any of the items listed above, you should not eat them, and either discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund.

The company said it is not aware of any listeria illnesses or other adverse events associated with the recall.
