The recalled meat, which bears the establishment number “EST. 86R” inside the USDA mark of inspection, was distributed to retail locations nationwide, FSIS said.

Signs and symptoms of E. coli infection typically begin to present 3 to 4 days after exposure to the bacteria, and may include:

FSIS is concerned that some of the recalled ground beef may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them, and discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund.

To date, no E. coli infections or other illnesses have been linked to the recall, FSIS said.
