Del Monte Recalling Canned Corn Due to Underprocessing

The problem occurred during the commercial sterilization process, and could result in bacterial contamination, which could get you very sick.

To date, there have been no illnesses or other adverse events associated with the recall, Del Monte was careful to point out.

Affected products include 15.25-ounce (432g) cans with the following UPC number printed on the label: 24000 02770. The cans will also have one of the following “Best if Used By” dates stamped on the bottom of the can:

The product was distributed to multiple distributors and retail locations in the following states: Alaska, Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

If you purchased any of the recalled corn, you should not eat it, and either discard it immediately or return it to the point of purchase for a refund,
