JBS Recalls Nearly 100,000 Lbs. Beef for E. Coli Ahead of Thanksgiving

The problem was discovered on Thursday, when FSIS confirmed that a sample of beef collected at another Swift Beef processing establishment was positive for E. coli O157:H7.

Affected products were recalled on Friday, and distributed to retailers in California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. All of the recalled beef features the establishment number “EST. 628” inside the USDA mark of inspection, FSIS said.

To date, there have been no E. coli infections or other adverse events linked to the recalled beef, FSIS said. Anyone concerned about a potential illness should consult their physician immediately.
