Mitsubishi Motors

The recall affects the following vehicles:

The problem is that a component of the hydraulic unit’s electronic control software may be incorrect, which could prevent the function of a critical safety system in the event of a crash, Mitsubishi said. Systems that could be affected by the problem include automatic emergency braking, anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, or the brake auto hold function, the automaker said.

Mitsubishi said dealerships will update the hydraulic unit ECU software for free starting October 16. Owners may contact Mitsubishi directly, or visit the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website and input their VIN number to see if their vehicle is affected.

To date, no injuries, accidents, or other adverse events have been associated with the vehicles in the recall, Mitsubishi said.
