Ohio Firm Recalls Nearly 50,000 Pounds Sausage for Plastic Contamination

The recalled sausages feature the establishment number “EST 6785” inside the USDA mark of inspection, and were sold in the following states: Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Affected products were distributed in 12-ounce trays labeled as:

All of the above have a lot code of 8213, FSIS said.

Consumers who purchased any of the recalled sausage products should discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund.

To date, there have been no reports of injuries or other adverse events associated with the recall, FSIS said.
