The lawsuit was filed in Delaware County, Ohio, on behalf of Clayton Jones, who is currently undergoing medical treatment since becoming very ill from eating food at the Chipotle Mexican Grill on July 27.
Mr. Jones reported eating a burrito bowl with chicken, fajita vegetables, pico de gallo, rice, sour cream and lettuce.
In addition to reporting that several Chipotle employees were ill last week, the Delaware General Health Department announced several alarming inspection findings. These included potential cross-contamination involving raw chicken and foods being held at improper and unsafe temperatures.
Ron Simon & Associates Establishes Chipotle Claims Center
Lead attorney Ron Simon issued the following statement today:
“This is the first of many lawsuits we will be filing on behalf of local residents who were sickened by contaminated Chipotle food. We have handled hundreds of claims against Chipotle as this is Chipotle’s seventh food poisoning outbreak in the last 3 years. These lawsuits will force Chipotle to change its ways and make its food safer for everyone not just in Powell, Ohio, but across the United States.
We also understand that Chipotle representatives are trying to settle these cases cheaply with unrepresented victims, offering pennies on the dollar in exchange for a quick release. We will not allow Chipotle to sweep this disaster under the rug and we strongly encourage all victims to seek legal advice before contacting Chipotle or its lawyers.”
Mr. Simon and his law firm have established a Chipotle Claims Center to assist victims in the outbreak. The Chipotle Claims Center can be reached toll-free at 1-888-335-4901 or online at www.chipotlelawsuit.com
