Toyota Recalls Lexus Sedans for Fuel Leak Problem That Could Start Engine Fires

According to Toyota, the diaphragm material in the fuel pulsation dampers in engines of affected vehicles can harden over time and crack, allowing fuel to leak, which creates a risk of fire.

The recall, which includes about 115,000 customers in the U.S., affects the following models with

Owners of these vehicles will be notified of the recall by letter beginning in early August. Lexus dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with an improved one at no cost to customers.

To date, no engine fires or other incidents have been linked to the recall, Toyota said.
