75,000 Pounds of Salad Recalled After E. coli Outbreak

Missa Bay, LLC, of Swedesboro, New Jersey, recalled 75,233 pounds of salad products because the lettuce may be contaminated with E. coli, according to the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS).

Health officials are currently investigating an outbreak of E. coli that has sickened at least 17 people in 8 states. Two sick people in Maryland reported eating Ready Pac Bistro® Chicken Caesar Salad purchased from Sam’s Club.

The recall was issued after the lettuce in an unopened bag of Ready Pac Bistro® Chicken Caesar Salad from a sick person’s home tested positive for E. coli, according to the Maryland Department of Health.

All other salad products made with the same lot of lettuce are being recalled.

The recalled products were produced from October 14, 2019 through October 16, 2019.

The recall involves a dozens of salad items sold at Walmart, Target, Aldi, Domino’s Pizza, Giant Eagle, Albertson’s, and other stores.

Some of the brand-names include Ready Pac Bistro, Marketside, Signature Café, Signature Farms, Bonduelle, Sam’s, and more.
