Kids II Rocking Sleeper Recalled After 5 Baby Deaths

On April 26, Kids II recalled 694,000 Rocking Sleepers and warned parents to immediately stop using the products, citing 5 infant deaths.

The recall includes all models of Kids II Rocking Sleepers made between March 2012 and April 2019. The recall includes dozens of models, such as Disney Baby, Ingenuity, Bright Starts,
Dream Comfort, and automatic Rock N Soothe Sleepers.

They were sold at major retailers such as Walmart, Target and Toys ‘R Us for approximately $40 to $80.

Deaths occurred when babies rolled from their back to their stomach while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

Inclined sleepers also pose a risk of suffocation due to positional asphyxia, in which a very young infant’s chin touches their chest and cuts off their airway because they can’t hold their head up.

The Kids II recall was announced just 2 weeks after Fisher-Price recalled all 4.7 million of their Rock ‘n Play Sleepers following a Consumer Reports investigation that linked the product to at least 32 infant deaths.
