Tyson Foods, Inc., is recalling 69,093 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken strips over concerns the products may be contaminated with tiny pieces of metal, the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) warned on Thursday.
Products affected by the recall include:
- Tyson fully cooked buffalo-style chicken strips in 25-ounce bags
- Tyson fully cooked crispy chicken strips in 25-ounce bags
- Spare Time fully cooked buffalo-style chicken strips in a 20-pound case
These items were produced on Nov. 30, 2018, and have a use-by date of Nov. 30, 2019, FSIS said.
The problem was discovered after 2 customers complained about extraneous materials in their Tyson chicken strips, according to the agency. Consumers have been urged to discard any of the recalled products they may have on hand, or return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.
To date, there have been no injuries or other adverse events associated with the recall, FSIS said.
