2018 Subaru Outbacks Recalled for Incorrect Oil Pipe

The recalled Outbacks are fitted with an oil pipe that’s too small on the inside, according to Subaru, which could leave the turbine bearing with an insufficient amount of oil, which in turn could make it wear prematurely or seize and fracture.

If the turbine blade splinters, the pieces could become sucked up by the engine, which could make the engine stop and fail to restart.

A total of 129 Subaru Outbacks are affected by the recall – click here to view a VIN list of the recalled wagons.

Subaru will begin contacting owners of affected vehicles later this month to advise them to organize a free fix with their nearest dealership.
