Target, Fresh Market Recall Salads, Sandwiches for Listeria Risk

Elevation Foods recalled containers of Archer Farms egg salad and deviled egg sandwiches, as well as Freskët egg salad, tuna salad, and Thai lobster salad items that were produced on June 18, 2019 due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

No illnesses have been reported, according to the manufacturer.

The recall was issued after 3 containers of egg salad were positive for Listeria monocytogenes in tests by health officials in Florida.

The recalled products include:

Listeria is a bacteria that can grow in refrigerators and survive freezing. Food may look and smell normal when it is contaminated.

For people who eat the contaminated food, the symptoms of a Listeria infection may not appear for up to 70 days. Pregnant women may suffer a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infection of a newborn.
