The recall was initiated after Mondelēz received multiple complaints of “possible adverse health effects,” according to CNN. The company has remained mum since the press release.

The recall affects Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies with a “best when used by” date of September 7, 8, 14 and 15. These dates are located on the top left side of the package, near the lift tab. The packages have a retail UPC of 0 44000 03223 4, Mondelēz said.

No other Chips Ahoy products are being recalled, according to the company.

If you purchased cookies that are affected by this recall, you should not eat them, and either discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund. Customers with additional questions about the recall may contact Mondelēz Global LLC at 1-844-366-1171.
