Staphylococcal (staph) food poisoning is a gastrointestinal illness caused by eating foods contaminated with toxins produced by Staphylococcus bacterium. Staph usually does not cause illness in healthy people, but the bacterium has the ability to make toxins that can cause food poisoning.

Staph toxins are fast-acting, with symptoms typically presenting within 30 minutes to 6 hours after ingestion. Patients typically experience vomiting, nausea, stomach cramps, and diarrhea.

The illness cannot be passed to other people and typically lasts for only 1 day. Severe illness is rare.

If you purchased any recalled items, you should discard them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
