Organic Flour Recalled for Salmonella Contamination

E. Coli May Be Lurking in Uncooked Flour and Batter

Affected products include 22 ounce bags of Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods Organic Amaranth Flour, which feature a sell-by date of Nov. 26, 2015 and UPC code 0 39978 00911 1.

The recalled flour was distributed through retailers and distributors from June 11, 2014, thru August 7, 2014, in the following states: CA, FL, MI, ND, N, NY, OH, OR, TX, and WA.

While the flour is about 2.5 years expired, it is not uncommon for it to remain on store shelves and in consumers’ homes for years. Therefore, Bob’s Red Mill issued the recall “out of an abundance of caution,” FDA said.
