In the U.S., the recall affects 16 types of Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits products, which contain whey powder from a third-party manufacturer that is being recalled for salmonella.

Specific products affected by the Ritz Crackers recall include (Product – UPC number – Best-When-Used-By Date):

Symptoms of salmonella include fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The illness can lead to severe and sometimes life-threatening infections in very young children, old folks, and people with compromised immune systems.

If you purchased any of the above Ritz Cracker products, either just toss ‘em or return them to the store, if you want your cash back.
