Sam’s Club Recalls Nearly 50 Tons of Canned Chicken for Plastic Contamination

Tony Downs Food Co. Inc., a Mankato, Minnesota-based consumer packaged food producer, issued the recall after it received at least 2 complaints regarding extraneous materials found in the chicken, FSIS said.

The following products are affected by the recall:

These products can be identified by the establishment number “P65” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the labeling.

Consumers who purchased any recalled chicken should discard it immediately or return it to the point of purchase for a recall.

To date, there have been no reports of illnesses or other injuries associated with the recall, FSIS said.
