The recall was issued because the glass shade on the CALYPSO ceiling lamp can detach and fall, posing impact and laceration hazards to consumers.

IKEA has received 19 reports of the glass shade detaching and falling, resulting in 3 minor injuries, including bumps and cuts.

This recalled IKEA CALYPSO ceiling lamp units are marked with manufacturing date codes between 1625 and 1744.

They were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online at www.ikea-usa.com from August 2016 to July 2018 for about $30.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ceiling lamps and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund or replacement lamp.
