Wawona Frozen Foods recalled bags of frozen raspberries and frozen berry mixes containing raspberries that were sold at Aldi Grocery Stores and frozen raspberries sold at Raley’s Family of Fine Stores.
The berries were imported from Chile and packaged under Aldi and Raley’s private labels. The recall was issued after a product tested positive for Hepatitis A. No illnesses have been reported.
Anyone who may have eaten these recalled products should talk to their health care provider or local health department to determine if a vaccine is appropriate.
Aldi recalled Season’s Choice Raspberries (frozen) in 12-ounce bags with a “best by” date of June 10, 2021, August 1, 2021, or August 23, 2021, and UPC Code: 0 41498 12419 9.
Aldi also recalled Season’s Choice Berry Medley (frozen) containing raspberries, in 16-ounce bags, with a “best by” date of July 17, 2021, July 20, 2021, or July 22, 2021, and UPC Code: 0 41498 31344 9
Raley’s recalled Raley’s Fresh Frozen Red Raspberries in 12-ounce bags with a “best by” date of June 5, 2021, or August 1, 2021, and UPC Code: 46567 00754
Consumers who bought these products can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Hepatitis A is a contagious virus that can cause liver disease. The viral infection can range in severity from a mild illness lasting a few weeks to a severe illness lasting several months.
