Polaris Snowmobile Recall

Model Year 2017 800 PRO-RMK 174 LE SC Select Titanium

Polaris Industries, Inc., of Medina, Minnesota, has recalled approximately 6,000 of the RMK and SKS snowmobiles because a weld on the steering post can separate, resulting in a loss of steering control and a potential crash hazard.

Polaris has received 13 reports of a steering post weld separation. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves the Polaris RMK, PRO-RMK, SKS, and RMK snowmobiles from the 2017 model-year. They were sold from May 2016 through March 2017 and cost between $12,000 and $15,200.

The recalled snowmobiles have the word “Polaris” printed on the seat and “RMK,” “PRO,” “SKS,” or “ASSAULT” on the side body panel. The following models are included in the recall:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles and contact Polaris to schedule a free repair. Polaris is contacting all known consumers directly.
