The lawsuit was filed by John W. T. II, a man from Georgia who was implanted with the Meridian® Inferior Vena Cava Filter (“IVC Filter”) manufactured by C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular, Inc.
The IVC Filter was implanted on August 14, 2012 at a hospital in Georgia. His injuries occurred while he was living in Georgia.
C.R. Bard is accused of negligence for selling a defective medical device and failing to warn about safety risks.
The lawsuit was filed on July 1, 2018 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona — Case No. 2:18-cv-02069-DGC.
It will be centralized with over 4,000 other IVC filter lawsuits now pending against C.R. Bard in Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2641) — In Re: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation.
