There have been 2 reports of the outside of the grill catching on fire, but no injuries or property damage have been reported.

The black steel grills were manufactured in China by Bazhou Sanxin Steel and painted with flammable paint, according to the CPSC:

The exterior paint on the grill can ignite, posing a fire hazard.”

Fred's Recalls Mini Charcoal Grills for Fire Hazard Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grills and return them to any Fred’s Store for a full refund of the purchase price.

The “Living Traditions” mini barrel charcoal grills are made of black steel and measure 18″ x 15″ x 18″. They have black handles on the lid and one on each side, and a heat gauge and silver latch on the front.

Model number SXB1501 and UPC Code 00000 19877 are printed on the product’s packaging.

The recalled grills were sold from January to June 2017 for about $22 at Fred’s stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
