The lawsuit was filed by Alexander S., a man from Massachusetts who was implanted Denali® Inferior Vena Cava Filter (“IVC Filter”) manufactured by C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular.

The IVC Filter was implanted on May 1, 2014 at a hospital in Massachusetts. His injuries also occurred while he was living in the state.

The defendants are charged with strict products liability, manufacturing defect, design defect, negligence, failure to warn about potential risks, breach of implied and express warranty, fraudulent misrepresentation and concealment, and more.

The lawsuit was filed on April 30, 2018 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona — Case No. 2:18-cv-01318-DGC.

It will be centralized with over 3,700 other IVC filter lawsuits now pending against C.R. Bard in Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2641) — IN RE: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation.
