Wal-Mart Stores Inc., of Bentonville, Arkansas recalled about 11,000 Primo hTrio Multi-purpose beverage dispensers because hot water can drip from the machine at high altitudes, posing a burn hazard.

According to the recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on March 29, 2018:

Hot water can drip from the machine when it is used in high altitude areas over 6,000 feet in elevation, posing a burn hazard to users.”

Primo has received 3 reports of hot water leaking from the machine in high altitude areas, including 1 person who suffered a burn injury to their hand.

The recall involves Primo hTrio Multi-Purpose beverage dispensers that were purchased on or before December 31, 2017.

The machine provides hot and cold water and brews 6-oz, 8-oz, and 10-oz hot beverages. Model numbers 601225, 601229, and 601240 are printed on the bottom of the product and “Primo” is on the front.

They were sold at Sam’s Club and online at Amazon.com, and Wayfair.com from January 2017 to December 2017 for $200-$250.

Consumers in high altitude areas over 6,000 feet in elevation should stop using the dispensers and contact Primo for a free replacement.
