The lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a deceased man who was implanted with a Meridian® Vena Cava Filter (“IVC Filter”) manufactured by C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular, Inc.
The lawsuit was filed by Lisa B., a woman from California, on behalf of Kevin Ray Meeks. The IVC Filter was implanted on February 4, 2013 at a hospital in California. His injuries occurred while he was living in California.
C.R. Bard is accused of negligence for selling a defective medical device and failing to warn about safety risks.
The lawsuit was filed on January 17, 2019 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona — Case No. 2:19-cv-00295-DGC.
It will be centralized with over 5,770 other IVC filter lawsuits now pending against C.R. Bard in Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2641) — In Re: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation.
