Listeria is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal food poisoning in humans and pets. The symptoms of infection may include nausea, vomiting, aches, fever, and diarrhea.
Animals that become ill with Listeria Monocytogenes could display symptoms similar to humans.
Listeria can infect pets eating the dog food. There is also a risk to humans from handling the products, especially if they do not thoroughly wash their hands after touching the food or prep surfaces.
