Affected products include 2 lots of Southern Grove Cashew Halves and Pieces with Sea Salt in 8 ounce canisters.

Star Snacks initiated the recall Tuesday after customers informed the company of glass fragments in the bags, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled cashews were distributed to ALDI stores in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC., Wisconsin and West Virginia.

FDA says all affected products have been removed from store shelves. However, consumers may still have recalled cashews in their homes.

If you purchased any of the above items you should discard them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Warning: eating glass fragments is not recommended – they are neither delicious nor good for your health.

To date, no injuries have been associated with the recall.
