The automaker says that if bolts on affected vehicles fracture, the seat or seat belt’s performance could be compromised in the event of a sudden stop or crash.

The recall affects:

  • 2014 F-Series pickup
  • 2014 E-Series van
  • 2014-2015 Ford Escape
  • 2015 Lincoln MKC SUV

Most of the vehicles included in the recall are in the U.S.; however, about 20,681 are in Canada and 1,510 are in Mexico.

Ford says it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the recall.

Customers will be notified and dealers will replace the bolts free of charge.
