There have been 7 reports of the wooden stems detaching and causing the glass to break, including 1 victim who required stitches.

According to the recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):

The wooden stem on the top of the decorative pumpkin can detach when picked up, causing the glass pumpkin base to fall and break, posing a laceration hazard.”

The glass pumpkins have a hollow glass base with a wooden stem attached to the top. They were sold in two sizes, small (SKU #3202753) and medium (SKU #3202766). The SKU numbers can be found on the price sticker located on the bottom of the product.

They were sold at Pier 1 from June 2017 through November 2017 for about $25 for the small pumpkin and $30 for the medium pumpkin.

Approximately 16,600 were sold in the United States. In addition, about 430 were sold in Canada.
