According to a Trader Joe’s recall notice issued Sunday, this action affects the following products:

  • Trader Joe’s First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce, barcode 00015905, Best Before Date Aug. 8, 2018;
  • Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce, barcode 00194877, Best Before Date Oct. 6, 2018, and
  • Trader Joe’s All Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce, barcode 00014359, Best Before Date Dec. 16, 2018.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Safety Alert stating the recall was prompted by reports to Manzana Products Co., which makes the applesauce for Trader Joe’s, from consumers saying they’d found glass in the products.

Trader Joe’s said all affected products had been removed from store shelves and destroyed.

Consumers who may have purchased any of the above Trader Joe’s applesauce should discard it immediately or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

To date, no injuries have been associated with this recall.
