The lawsuit was filed by Sondra K., a woman from Illinois who was injured by the Denali® Inferior Vena Cava Filter (“IVC Filter”) manufactured by C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular Inc.
The IVC Filter was implanted on November 27, 2013 at a hospital in Illinois. Her injuries occurred in Illinois.
The lawsuit charges C.R. Bard with negligence, failure to warn about side effects, manufacturing and designing a defective medical device, breach of express and implied warranty, fraudulent misrepresentation and concealment, and punitive damages.
The lawsuit was filed on April 1, 2018 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona — Case No. 2:18-cv-01007-DGC.
It will be centralized with over 3,600 other IVC filter lawsuits now pending against C.R. Bard in Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2641) — IN RE: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation.
