The lawsuit was filed by Robert James M., a man from New Jeresy who was implanted with the Recovery® Inferior Vena Cava Filter (“IVC Filter”) manufactured by C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular, Inc.
The IVC Filter was implanted in 2003 at a hospital in New Jersey. His injuries occurred while he was a resident of New Jersey.
C.R. Bard is accused of negligence for selling a defective medical device and failing to warn about safety risks.
The lawsuit was filed on September 2, 2018 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona — Case No. 2:18-cv-02772-DGC.
It will be centralized with over 4,285 other IVC filter lawsuits now pending against C.R. Bard in Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2641) — In Re: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation.
