Sleep Number has received 6 reports of the foot warmer overheating. One person suffered a burn injury, but did not need medical attention.

According to the recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):

The foot warmer under the mattress cover can short circuit and overheat, posing a burn hazard.”

The foot warmers were sold at Sleep Number stores and online from April 2017 through August 2017 for between $5,400 and $11,000.

The recall involves foot warmers that were sold since November 2016 with Sleep Number 360 smart beds (models i7 and i10) when combined with a FlexFit 3 adjustable base.

Consumers should stop using the foot warmer in their Sleep Number 360 bed and contact the company for a free replacement foot warmer. Sleep Number is also offering to schedule installation by a technician.
