The company says the problem stems from some potentially faulty wiring in the drills. Affected models were manufactured from September 2017 to November 2018.

If you own a DeWalt drill, you can check the date code to see if it qualifies for the recall. If there is an “x” after the date, your drill has been inspected and there’s no need to return it

No injuries or other adverse events have been associated with the recalled drills to date, Dewalt said.
