LAPD detectives arrested Scott Silva following a two week investigation in November, according to KTLA 5. Authorities began investigating Silva after they received 1 report of alleged inappropriate conduct involving the teacher.

“The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office filed multiple counts of sexual battery and child annoyance, and a warrant in the amount of $400,000 was issued for Silva’s arrest,” LAPD said in a written statement. “Mr. Silva was subsequently taken into custody without incident.”

Silva worked as a science teacher, football kicker’s coach, athletic trainer, and girl’s lacrosse coach, according to the Birmingham Community Charter High School website.
