The lawsuit was filed by James B., a man from Washington State who was implanted with the Eclipse® Vena Cava Filter (“IVC Filter”) manufactured by C.R. Bard and Bard Peripheral Vascular.
The IVC Filter was implanted on February 28, 2011 at a hospital in Washington. His injuries occurred while he was a resident of Washington.
C.R. Bard is accused of negligence for selling a defective medical device and failing to warn about safety risks.
The lawsuit was filed on March 9, 2019 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona — Case No. 2:19-cv-01607-DGC.
It will be centralized with over 6,700 other IVC filter lawsuits now pending against C.R. Bard in Multi-District Litigation (MDL No. 2641) — In Re: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation.
