Products affected by the recall include:

  • 14.06-lb. cases containing three bags with 30 pieces for a total of 90 portions of “CN FULLY COOKED FLAMEBROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED” with case code 155-525-0 and package code 8334.

These products were shipped to food service locations across the U.S., FSIS said. The recall was issued after 2 customers complained of small pieces of purple plastic in their patties.

Food service locations that purchased the affected products are being asked not to serve them. FSIS is recommending that the patties be thrown away or returned to the point of purchase for a refund.

To date, there have been no injuries or other adverse events associated with the recalled beef patties, according to the agency.
